Student Led, Community Focused

Practical Financial Literacy for Every Generation

Smart Money Lab is a student-led program that brings real-world money skills to classrooms and communities, from budgeting and investing for students to scam awareness for seniors. Founded by Nevaan Chandak in 8th grade, it now runs interactive workshops across ten plus schools and senior centre

Our Origin

An idea rooted in personal experience.

Nevaan Chandak founded Smart Money Lab in the 8th grade in 2024 after observing that people around him faced avoidable hardship due to a lack of early financial education. This experience shaped his conviction that financial literacy should be introduced well before adulthood, when habits are still forming.

What began as an informal outreach effort has since developed into a structured program, supported by a pre- and post-workshop survey developed in collaboration with a University of Houston professor to evaluate its educational impact.

Programs

A curriculum for every audience.

Each program is delivered in person as a 45-minute to 1-hour workshop, tailored to the age and needs of its audience.
